Your driving data should feel like yours

RouteLocker 2 is built around a simple idea: the places you save, trips you record, and notes you add should stay under your control. Here is the plain-language version of how the app handles data.

No account required

You do not need to create an account, sign in, or hand over personal information to use RouteLocker 2.

What stays on your device

• Your trip history and trip details.
• Your saved destinations and destination groups.
• Notes you add to trips.
• Your display, map, arrival alert, and driving preferences.
• Backups you create until you choose to move or share them.

How permissions are used

• Location: used for live speed, compass behavior on supported devices, trip recording, destination distance, and arrival estimates.
• Microphone: used only while you hold the voice search button so the app can transcribe your search on-device.
• Speech recognition: used for on-device voice-to-text when your device supports it.

Third-party services

• Apple Weather: powers current conditions, forecasts, and alerts. See Apple Weather attribution for source details.
• NOAA / National Weather Service: provides the live radar view when you tap into radar. See radar.weather.gov.
• Map apps: when you tap Navigate, directions are handed off to Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze under that app's own terms.

Exports and sharing

Backups and CSV exports happen only when you choose to create them. If you send a backup or CSV to another app, service, or person, that destination handles it under its own rules, so share only with people and services you trust.
