Questions before you drive with RouteLocker 2?
You can buy RouteLocker 2 on the App Store here: Buy RouteLocker 2.
No. You can use RouteLocker 2 without creating an account. Your trips, saved destinations, notes, and preferences stay on your device unless you choose to back them up or share them.
Location access powers the core driving experience: live speed, compass behavior on supported devices, trip recording, destination distance, and arrival estimates.
Any driving app that uses location while you record a trip will use more battery than an idle app. RouteLocker 2 records location while a trip is active; when you are not tracking, it does not keep requesting location in the background.
RouteLocker 2 saves the active trip state locally. Reopen the app to restore the session, then tap Stop when you are ready to save it or Reset if you want to clear it.
Yes. You can record a drive without choosing a destination. The trip saves without a destination name, and the dashboard still shows live speed and compass on supported devices.
Open the Trips tab, apply the filters you want, then tap Share. RouteLocker 2 creates a CSV from the current list so you can save it or send it to another app.
You can choose Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze in Preferences. Google Maps and Waze are available when those apps are installed on your device.
RouteLocker 2 is built for iOS and iPadOS. It uses portrait on iPhone and landscape on iPad. The compass ring appears on devices with a magnetometer, and some features, like on-device voice search, depend on hardware and iOS support.
